Gíslaug had these landmarks made in memory of Þórðr, also Slóði had (them) made. It is true that which was said and which was intended.
This runic inscription was made pretty high up on a vertical rock - you can see it if you point at the picture. It's not clear what the second sentence means ; perhaps something that was known only to the family of Þórðr ? The information sign says that it looks like the snakes whisper something in the mans ears. Is it a picture from a saga that is now forgotten, but which people 1000 years ago recognized very well ? Beautiful piece of art, though.... one of my favourites !
