| On Orkney mainland, between Stromness and Kirkwall is Stenness.... Not many houses, but some of the most remarkable Stone Age monuments in Europe. Two stone circles, one tall standing stone, two chambered cairns and a place where the people lived or performed their rituals.... there are also some standing stones and burial mounds that I don't have photos of - some other time perhaps ? | |||
