Skara Brae
Skara Brae is situated on the west coast
of Orkney mainland, and it is the best preserved prehistoric village in
Northern Europe. There was a storm in 1850 that tore off the grass an
a lot of sand, and exposed parts of the site.
On Skaill farm, in the background, they
found a big silver hoard.......
