If you're heading northwards on the road
through Karleby, you'll see these Stone Age graves on your left hand side.... (not K 127)
Some of them are placed in a straight line.
These passage graves
are bigger than the average ones in Sweden ( one of them is the
biggest one in Scandinavia.... ) - due to competition among neighbours
?
Excavations have shown
that the Stone Age people lived on the right side of the road, while
they buried their dead on the left side - just like today ! The
church and the churchyard are placed about 250 metres south of passage
grave 132.
So this may be one of the oldest roads
in the world, that is still in use....
