The Sparlösa stone |
|||
This is one of the most famous rune stones in Sweden. It dates from around 800AD. That´s in the beginning of the so called Viking age - they usually say that it started with the sacking of Lindisfarne in 793AD, and ended with the battle of Stanford Bridge in 1066... And what´s so special with this stone then ? It´s old, it contains pictures and it´s got a lot of text on it. |
