Gyða had the stone raised in memory of Þordjarfr, her husbandman, Guðlaug's son, and (he) lived in Harvistaðir. Balli carved the stone.

A very beautiful rune stone, that is now standing in the park of Ekolsund estate. Two other rune stones are "guarding" the eastern entrance : U 642 and U 643.
