Andvéttr and <kiti> and Kárr and Blesi and Djarfr, they raised this stone in memory of Gunnleifr, their father. He fell in the east with Ingvarr. May God help (his) spirit.
Compare with U 654 which is standing 3 kilometres north of this stone. It's the same people that raised them both; after Gunnleifr, who died along with Ingvarr in the east....
And then Andvéttr died - look at U 643. It also used to stand here, along with U 642, but they were later moved 10 kilometres north-west to Ekolsund....

.... but there is a heathen grave 15 metres to the left of the rune stone ! A small mound with a standing stone on top of it - no inscription on it, though....
