This is one of three rune stones in the province of Uppland, that were carved with the elder futhark, and it dates from around 550 AD. The other elder futhark rune stones are U 664 U from Häggeby and U 877 U from Möjbro.
It's not clear what the runes on the §A-side of the stone means. The §B-side runes could mean "stone". Point at the pictures to see close-ups. The stone is still standing on it's original place.
