Staraja Ladoga

It may look like runes on this toy-sword from Staraja Ladoga in Russia, but it's more likely that the person who made it wanted the signs to look like the Ulfberht-mark. Those swords were reputed to be the best ones in those days. Read more about them here. My friend Ogneslav took the photo on an exhibition at the Historical Museum in Moscow : "Vikings. Way to the east". Here's another toy-sword, but it contains runes instead.
