Fagerlöt |
Holmfríðr (and) <ilin--r>, they had the stone cut in memory of Áskell, their father. He engaged in battle on the eastern route, before the people's commander wrought his fall. |
There's no sign of any medieval pathways, but I suppose the main road passed by here 1000 years ago, otherwise it would be meaningless to carve the runes on this rock. Nowadays it's just a rock in the middle of nowhere, in very rough terrain. Did Áskell and his sons live nearby ? We'll never know. |
