At the Almeö-site, archaeologists found some buried dogs, but one of them must have been extra dear to the owner. It was covered with red ochre. It's at display at Falbygdens museum in Falköping.

So it's about 9300 years old, this dog..... that was when the Ice was still pulling back northwards, and the people were still hunters and collectors.
