Friggeråker |
The name means Frigg's field. She was
the wife of Odin, so here we've got a heathen name on one of the earliest
churchplaces ! It has probably been some kind of a heathen sanctuary earlier,
that got transformed into a Christian one. The ruins of the church are
not from Saint Sigfrids days - more likely from the 12th century,
just like Agnestad churchruin. |
Not far from Friggeråker is Gudhem,
with its ruins of a nunnery. |
